Individuals can choose from a variety of options that make it easy to coordinate your charitable giving and have the greatest possible impact.

Families can create giving strategies that provide for your heirs while fulfilling your charitable dreams. There are so many ways to create a fund, with little or no cash assets right now.

Businesses can reduce paperwork, administrative expenses, and often tax liability by choosing CFOS over a private foundation. You get to see the impact of your grants year after year. And you have the flexibility to add more to your fund during good years and, if necessary, to scale back during leaner times.

Non-profit organizations can build a permanent source of capital by establishing organizational endowment funds within CFOS. Participating agencies are relieved of the costs and administrative tasks of fund oversight, and reap the benefits of the Foundation’s professional management expertise.

Private foundations* can benefit from our administrative, grantmaking, and investment services to achieve their charitable objectives. We’d like to express our appreciation to The John Christopher Smith Foundation, Inc. – the first to turn to us for some of these services – for their confidence in us and for the opportunity to facilitate their family philanthropy.

* Transferred Assets: Private foundations often find it advantageous to transfer their assets to the CFOS to reduce their administrative and tax burdens. The name and purpose of the transferring foundation can be maintained, and its trustees can remain involved in the grant making process. Charitable organizations that are ceasing operations may also opt to transfer their operations to the CFOS. Such transfers allow the charity’s name and mission to endure indefinitely.
